CEO and President Robert W.
Schmidt has been involved with the insurance agency business
in California since 1974. Robert is a graduate of Hobart
College, Geneva New York where he graduated with a degree
in Economics. After completing his degree he served as a
Navy Supply Corps officer for five years during the Vietnam
era. Subsequent to serving his country in the Navy Robert
became the Vice President and eventually co-owner of a large
multi-office Insurance agency in Manhattan Beach, CA from
1974 to 1985. Eventually Robert branched off and started
his own agency in Torrance, CA called Peninsula General Insurance Agency. He owned |
and operated that agency from 1986 to 1990. In 1990 Robert and
his family moved down to beautiful San Diego, CA and opened what
is now Poway General Insurance Agency.
Sons Matthew and Adam are
now both full time employees of the Agency. Both have been exposed
to the Insurance business their entire lives. Adam is licensed
and has been employed with the company since February, 2002. Matthew,
a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a degree
in Managerial Economics, began his career at Poway General Insurance
Agency in 2003. He has a background in sales and is working to
become licensed.
Judy is our accounting manager and has been involved
with agency accounting since 1974.
